Using only one drop, warm it up between your fingers and gently dab evenly all over your face and neck. I usually rub my hands together to create heat, press and hold over my cheeks and eyes for 30 seconds, repeat, and hold over my forehead and chin. If you want an even deeper hydration, soak a muslin cloth in warm water wring dry and steam for another 30 seconds.
Et Volia! Beautiful nourished skin that remains warm for about 30mins meaning my circulation is still pumping! I quietly rejoyce knowing my skin is well satisfied.
Hope you enjoyed my review 🙂
Hurrah- we have found an easy way to deep cleanse your skin in the comfort of your own home. Kuu Konjac 100% natural fibre Konjac sponges made from 100% natural Konjac vegetable plant root extracted from the plant Amorphophallus konjac, are now in at Bathing Beauty!
They are as simple as “just add water” I have literally been using mine for the past few weeks and loving it, not only does it leave my skin feeling soft and glowing, it also helps my cleanser last longer. Only a small amount of cleanser is required on the sponge as the sponge increases the amount of bubbles, thus giving you a great all round cleanse while using less.
So what’s the big hype about these sponges? Well where shall I begin- The KUU Konjac sponge gently cleanses and soothes the skin by removing dirt and oil, naturally restoring the pH level of the skin. Cleansing helps to stimulate blood flow and encourage new skin cells, revitalizing your complexion without damaging the skin. Since using the natural French Red Clay KUU Konjac sponge (which is best suited to my dry skin type) I have noticed visible results of softer, clearer and healthier looking skin.
There are three types of sponges to suit all skin types-
French Green Clay– Normal to Oil and Combination Skin
French Red Clay– Dry, Sensitive and Mature Skin
All Purpose Pure Sponge– Which is suited to all skin types
Best thing is they are 100% biodegradable, so once finished with your sponge (the average lifespan is 3months, if cared for in the correct way) add to your compost heap or alternatively plant the sponge under your favourite plant- and it will help the plant retain water and it will naturally biodegrade over time!
Keep your skin shining and the environment happy all from a sponge.
Firstly I would like to introduce myself- I am new to the Bathing Beauty office and loving every minute of this fabulous team! I have been working in the beauty and fashion industry for a number of years, as a qualified beauty therapist and fashion writer. This wonderful career has taken me all around the world. I have just recently returned back to Perth after a few months living, working and traveling London/Europe.
With a busy work and social life schedule sometimes it’s easy to forget about your daily care for your skin. (I know from experience)I have been in the industry for many years and have tested and sampled many different products from all over the world. And after many reactions, indications and unhappy skin, I have finally found a number #1 winner for my skin and I’m sure for everyone!
Tata Harper has created a premium range of skin care that promises to be 100% natural and 100% effective. Oh, and how could I forget about the luxurious scent of these products deriverating from flowers, extracts and essential oils. As I have dry skin, I have followed a strict skin regime mentioned by Tata Harper from her dry skin procedures. As with any products, I choose to go hard and follow the strict regime made from the manufacture (you will always receive maximum results by doing this)
For best results I perform this morning and night.
My Daily Skin Routine/ Dry Skin Tone-
4- Reparative Moisturizer
With also using the Resurfacing Mask once a week, to give my skin and pores a deep cleanse, remove all dead skin cells and leaving my skin with a refreshing look and feel.
My favorite piece of the collection, which is hard to say, would be the Restorative Eye Crème. It really does do wonders and I have noticed the difference only after using it for a few weeks. My eyes were brighter, reduced dark circles and gave them sparkle! Even my partner noticed, now that’s saying something!!
Do you want a perfect facial while staying at home? Read On…
Remove your make up with the Refreshing Cleanser. Apply the product on an esthetic wipe or sponge and in circular motions cleanse your face, neck and chest. Repeat twice. 3 pumps each application
If you have normal/dry skin, gently exfoliate/massage the face, neck and chest with the Regenerating Cleanser. Apply the product directly on esthetic wipes or sponge and exfoliate in circular motions to activate enzymes and scrubbing agents. Repeat twice. Once the skin starts feeling soft, remove excess cleanser with warm, wet hand towel. 3 pumps each application
A great way to steam at home is by filling a bowl big enough to place your head over with boiling hot water, this is the perfect time to add Aromatic Oil Treatment of your choice to the water, stand directly over the steam and drape a small towel over your head for keeping the steam from escaping because it will be more effective in opening the clogged pores. Stay 10/ 15 minutes until the steam disappears and rinse the face with lukewarm water. You can steam your face twice a week without worries – it won’t harm your skin.
Apply a thick layer of the Resurfacing Mask with a mask brush or your fingers to the face, neck and chest.
Note: Do not apply mask near hairline.
Leave mask for 30minutes and remove by using a warm, damp towel.
Spritz your entire face and neck with the Hydrating Floral Essence. Help the moisture penetrate the skin by gently “tapping” with your fingertips. 6 sprays
Spritz one more time the entire face and neck with the Hydrating Floral Essence. Massage face and neck to help the products penetrate the skin. 3 sprays
If you have oily or combination skin, apply the Rebuilding Moisturizer to the entire face and neck. If you have dry or mature skin, use Repairative Moisturizer. Gently massaging into skin. 1 Pump
Apply the Restorative Eye Crème to the eye area (upper and lower lid) in circular movements to insure complete penetration and promote lymphatic drainage. Do not get too close to eyes. 1 pump
Next use the Replenishing Nutrient Complex to entire face, lips, neck and chest. Skin will be completely infused and hydrated. Apply 3-4 drops per area
Enjoy pampering yourself!
Sasha the creator of ILIA COSMETICS is a women after my own heart, with the launch of two limited edition colours to add to her already successful range of lip conditioners she is certainly raising the bar when it comes to quality and performance of organic cosmetics.
CRIMSON AND CLOVER is true-red in colour and one to add to your make up arsenal because it will ensure you’re winning all day long. I applied this before lunch and pursed my lips together after lunch to redistribute the colour et Voila! The staying power is shockingly impressive…Anybody order legs? Legs anyone? I’ve never come across an organic lipstick like this EVER it has pink/blue tones that really makes the red POP and it leaves this gorgeous magenta-ish stain afterwards, which is just as pout-worthy as the first application. Girlies this is a limited edition so if you’re a stickler for true reds, then I would get on to this pronto!
I love the name of this next colour ‘IN PARADISE’ what would you do in paradise? I would indulge in every way possible with soft bossanova notes floating the in breeze sit back and ahhhhhhhhhhhh…snapping back to reality IN PARADISE is a very feminine colour that suites most skin/hair types it’s also a gorgeous twiggy-take on a nude. Imagine blitzing watermelon and rockmelon then adding a tablespoon of yoghurt in a blender; the intensity of colour from the fresh melons toned down with the milkiness of yoghurt is my take on this colour. I love it, I want to eat it.
ILIA’S Tinted Lip Conditioners combines organic ingredients such as Jojoba seed oil, Sesame seed oil and anti-oxidants of Pomegranate extract and Vitamin E to soothe and condition the lips. Just a note if you find that you prefer something more hydrating over a ‘normal’ lippy then these are great option for you as they do keep your lips really soft. You can also apply these in liberally to intensify the colour.
‘As our skin braces itself for Winter, a lack of sunlight and harsher weather conditions can lead to a dull, distressed complexion. Regularly exfoliating with a gentle yet effective product helps remove the dead cells that leave a lacklustre layer on the skin, keeping at its bright best. We also tend to use richer products during the Winter months that can build up on the skin, so its essential to keep pores clear and decongested by polishing away any excess oils.’
– Sarah Brown, Founder of Pai Skincare
I won’t lie – I wouldn’t really have known the importance of autumn exfoliation if I hadn’t have asked, but now I have, it makes perfect sense doesn’t it? Autumn exfoliation is the perfect time to brighten the skin in preparation the months of much duller weather and potentially much duller skin. In a bid to road test Sarah Brown’s little tip (and her new exfoliator product, Pai’s Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator), we enlisted the help of a well known beauty goddess. Sarah Macrae, the lovely lady behind BellaSugar online, did us a favour and gave Pai’s new exfoliator a whirl… and from what I can see, it really does what it should!
Here is what she had to say:
“The first thing that struck me when I used Pai Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator was how luxurious it felt. The gel formulation has a smooth, rich quality about it. It’s only when you start to massage it into the skin that you feel that ultra subtle jojoba beads. For me it’s the perfect marriage between chemical and mechanical exfoliants because I have sensitive skin that can be prone to eczema. The problem with chemical exfoliants is that they can irritate my skin easily, but also large granular mechanical exfoliants can also be problematic as they tend to feel quite rough on the skin. You apply this exfoliator to dry skin and the process of gently massaging it into skin, focusing on problem and congested areas such as the nose, forehead and chin, feels like a salon treatment. After using this 2-3 times a week for a few weeks now I’ve visibly noticed a change in my skin. It not only looks brighter as I’ve sloughed away all the dead skin cells that can lead your complexion to take on a dull, greyish tone, but it’s visibly softer thanks to the vitamin-enriched formula. It boasts vitamins A, D and E as well as high concentrations of fatty acids omega 3 and 6 to lock in moisture. I will be continuing to use this and honestly can’t recommend it highly enough – especially for those of you looking for a gentle formula that is alcohol-free. It’s particularly perfect if, like me, you suffer from sensitive skin or eczema. Or acne also.”

I think I would be fairly safe in saying that most girls had a collection of Lip Smackers balms at some stage in their lives. I know I certainly did. My collection was so large I had a dedicated Lip Smackers Box on my vanity table.
When I hit the first year of high school, I even branched out and bought a more “grown-up” gooey, watermelon flavoured gloss – which I recall tasted just like sour watermelon lollies (I hate to think what I was actually ingesting every time I licked my lips!).
But, there comes a point in every Lip Smacker collector’s life where Lip Smackers become… well… just a little bit childish. The packaging is very “tween”, and the flavours rather sweet (sometimes too sickly sweet) – not always properties that a female past the tween period seeks. It doesn’t mean that we don’t still love an awesomely scented balm or gloss though right?
Well, now we have found Hurraw! balms, a range of “grown-up” scented balms. With scents like red cherry, green tea and coconut, Hurraw! balms are a more “adult” way to get your Lip Smackers fix. My personal favourite is the mint balm – it kept my lips hydrated and smelling gorgeous on my recent long haul flight. The treatment balms also work a treat (excuse the pun), and have become a staple in my beauty regime. One for day, one for night and one for fun, I own the complete “completely kissable lips” collection.
What is your flavour?
Over the Christmas break I went gallivanting around Europe with my brother, some friends and a backpack. YES A BACKPACK. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Being winter, my backpack was VERY short on space. There is no economical way to carry around winter jackets, knits and boots (while still having enough space to shop til you drop). As such I had to skimp a lot. Only 2 jackets allowed, 1 mini perfume bottle, 1 week’s worth of underwear… you get the gist.
Even my entire beauty bag had to undergo the “mini size” treatment. No luxury large sized toothpastes, no full sized face washes and definitely no 250ml shampoos and conditioners. Unfortunately, at the time of my departure, this ingenious little Rahua travel set hadn’t yet hit the Bathing Beauty office (upset was an understatement).
Lucky for all you privileged people (who might be off on holidays in the near future), Bathing Beauty and Rahua have already “minified” your shampoo and conditioner collection for you. Rahua‘s new Jetsetter Kit comes with 2 mini Rahua shampoos and 2 mini Rahua conditioners, meaning you can take all your organic hair care favourites on your travels, without compromising that all important luggage space. Let’s face it, nobody likes using the sub-par shampoo and conditioner sachets the hotels provide for you… and now there really is no excuse to have to!
If you would like to win one of these fabulous little travel kits, head over to the Bathing Beauty Facebook page and enter our competition!
A toast with my teacup to my Blossom Lady lip conditioner by ILIA which I have recently added to my overflowing make-up stash.
I really love it’s pretty muted pinky/nudie colour which looks like your natural lip colour up close but from afar its this really hot kind of 80’s milky pink. It’s also is super nourishing and feels absolutely luxurious to wear plus the best part is that it lasts and keeps your lips extremely soft, perfect for kisses and first dates!
In the picture below you can see with these lip conditioners you can control the intensity of colour. On the top I’ve run the lip conditioner across a few times, on the bottom just once.
Enjoy Ladies! xox
I’m not a typically a fan of anything coconut scented because it reminds me of Bounty Chocolate – I love to eat Bounty’s and therefore it is not really my desire to wear it!
But, much to my surprise, I Love Coco from Honore de Pres is a scent that is abundant and modern. It plays on the freshness of young coconuts contrasted against Anis and Coriander seeds to create a very wearable scent. Love Coco was created by Olivia Giacobetti the nose behind some of the world’s most famous fragrance houses such as Diptique and L’artisan to name a few, and is part of her I LOVE NY range which also features I Love Carrots and VAMP NY.
Love Coco’s first impression is that of a young green coconut when you finally break through the husk to reveal cool fresh juice. A hint of Anis adds a striking contrast of earthy fennel that reaches out and grounds the lightness of young coconut. As this scent matures on your skin playful hints of Coriander seed surface and gently caresses the now delicate and very romantic summery scent of coconuts. If you could bottle up all the cliches of a romantic tropical island getaway, from white sandy beaches to sailing and swimming in crystal blue water with a cocktail awaiting your return from the sea then Love Coco is for you. It has the ability to inspire feelings of relaxation, relief and happiness.
I find Love Coco has great staying power like a true parfum, the fact that this is made by a very renowned perfumer, has eco certification with all scents derived from natural sources, packaging is all recyclable, contains no petrochemical products or synthetic perfumes, and is free of colouring agents and phtalates produced without animal testing or include anything of animal origins, Honore de Pres Love Coco is leading the way in organic perfumery.
